What does “Cross a bead” mean?

What does “cross a bead” mean? Good Question!
Let’s follow the figures below:



Let’s say we are holding a fishing line like the picture shown. The fishing line on your lefthand, we will call it “lefthand side fishing line”. On your right hand, we will call it “righthand side fishing line”.



Red colored bead is the crossing bead. Thread the righthand side fishing line through the crossing beads right side hole, and thread the lefthand side fishing line through the crossing beads hole on the opposite side (left side hole) of the bead as shown. That’s how you cross a bead.

When you cross a bead, it usually makes a loop. It might not look like it, but imagine the beads are transparent, the fishing line should look like a circle.
